New Delhi, Jul 17 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. In a post on X, PMO India, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri @manojsinha, met Prime Minister @narendramodi.” The meeting came amidst heightened administrative and security focus in the Union Territory. Though details about what transpired during the meeting remained undisclosed, the interaction hinted at ongoing coordination between the Centre and the UT’s top leadership. Pertinently, LG Sinha met PM Modi a day after he stated that J&K’s statehood would be restored at an appropriate time as promised by the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting assumes significance in backdrop of the recent developments that have taken place after the April 22, Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead. Soon after the attack India launched “Operation Sindoor” on May 7, 2025 and destroyed nine terrorist camps deep inside Pakistan and PoK. It led to breaking out skirmishes between India and Pakistan that continued till May 10. Both the countries announced ceasefire after Pakistan DGMO approached his counterpart in India and sought the end to hostilities. As the dust has settled tourists have returned to Kashmir and within 14 days of ongoing annual Amarnath pilgrimage, more than 2.5 lakh devotees have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine, nestled in Himalayas—(KNO)
